Can you believe Thanksgiving is here? Each year, I have done a “Kindness Project.” We have been talking about acts of kindness and giving back to those less fortunate than us. In the previous years, my class has collected for the kids at St. Jude’s House. We also put together Chemo Care Baskets and delivered them to patients receiving Chemotherapy. This year, we are going to collect for the children at St. Joseph’s Carmelite Home. The Carmelite Home provides Emergency Shelter Care, Open Residential Care, and Teen Mom and Baby Care. These services are typically utilized by children who have experienced a personal/family crisis. Some children spend a few days there, while some children spend their entire childhood there. The Carmelite home provides a safe environment for children to learn and grow. We would love our classes to help give these children a happy Christmas. They are always in need of items for the children there. Our kids always learn so much from these projects, and it is a great way to teach them about empathy and giving to others, especially during the holiday season. They learn about giving and helping those less fortunate. We will collect for the next couple of weeks, and deliver the items closer to Christmas. If you would like your child to participate, please send in any of the items listed on the back of this page before December 14th. J Thank you in advance for helping our students help others!
