Griffith High/Middle School Announcements for Tuesday, January 16, 2018
Attention Seniors: Senior Personal forms for the high school yearbook were passed out to all seniors in their English classes on Thursday, January 11th. If you did not receive a form or do not have an English class please see Mrs. Collard in H126 for information. If another form is needed students can pick them up in Mrs. Collard's classroom or in the main office, and they are also available on the HS website. Space is limited and the personals will be taken on a first come, first served basis. Take advantage of the opportunity to purchase a memory that will last a lifetime. Seniors personals are due on February 24th.
Computer Science Club will meet in room B109 after school TODAY. Computer Science Club is open to all GHS and GMS students.
Attention all girls that have signed up for the Girls Only Field Trip to Purdue Northwest. There will be a short mandatory meeting in Mrs. Brunk’s room TODAY from 2:40 - 3:00. If you have signed up for this trip please plan to attend. If you cannot attend, please see Mrs. Brunk for all the information. You must confirm your attendance with Mrs. Brunk by today or you will not be allowed to attend the field trip.
Attention Best Buddies members: We will be having our chapter meeting Wednesday at 2:40.
This week’s Romeo and Juliet meetings will be Wednesday for cast and Thursday for costume creation.
Attention All FCCLA Members, we will be having a meeting on Wednesday, January 17th after school in G113.
Attention Drama State Students: Our next meeting will be Wednesday, January 17th, after school in the auditorium. Your final payment is due at this meeting. Please make sure you attend for important information and paperwork. If you have questions, please see Miss Candiano in room H211.
Attention any high school or middle school student wishing to purchase a shirt for the Middle School Drama Night: Shirts are on sale now through Wednesday for $15. They are deep pink or black with white ink. If you would like to purchase a shirt, see Miss Rivera in B112 for an order form.
Boys Track & Field Conditioning sessions begin Wednesday, January 17 at 3:15 p.m. Athletes who have IHSAA physicals on file in the Athletic Office are to report to Coach Anthony Zarndt in the Weight Room at 3:15 p.m. Contact Coach Garrett if you have questions or require additional information.
Attention GHS student council our next meeting will be this Thursday after school in Miss Berzy’s room H219.
Students parking in the student lot must have your parking tag properly displayed at all times. Students are reminded that they are not to utilize any other parking spaces on the GHS campus other than those specifically assigned to the Wiggs Street and Pine Street student parking lots. All parking lots will be monitored by both School Administration and the Griffith Police Department. Violators face disciplinary action up to and including suspension and revocation of parking privileges.
Attention GHS: The blood drive is Monday, January 22nd! Sign up with the nurse today for a good cause. You must be at least 16 to donate. Any questions see Nurse Jen or Miss Berzy.
As Turn-A-Bout approaches please remember the following:
- All GHS attendees must present their current and valid School Issued ID upon arrival or you will not be admitted to the dance.
- All out-of-school guests must present a valid, state issued ID or Driver's License upon arrival or they will not be admitted to the dance.
After 30 minutes the doors will close and student and/or out-of-school guests will not be permitted to enter unless prior approval from the Principal or Assistant Principal has been given.
Congratulations to the GHS Girls and Boys Swim Teams. The boy’s team placed 3rd in Conference and the Girls placed 4th. Congratulations to Conference Champs - Conner Begeske (100 IM & 100 Backstroke), Ricky Damron (50 Free), Haylie Keene (Girls 500 Free) and Matthew Thomas (Boys 500 Free)!! Great swims all around!
