• Griffith High/Middle School Announcements for Tuesday, May 22, 2018

     

    The library is now closed for the semester. All checked out books are now overdue. Please return all books as soon as possible. All fines must be paid before next semester begins. New books have been ordered. You will not be able to check out anything until all books are returned and all fines are paid. Library hours are 7am till 3pm.

     

    Summer school and Driver’s Ed registration forms are on our school website. Classes begin June 4. Don’t wait to sign up classes are first come first serve.

     

    Computer Science Club will meet in room B109 after school TODAY.

     

    Back by popular demand: FCCLA will be doing a second order of the pineapple shirts! Order forms can be found outside G113 on the FCCLA bulletin board. All orders and money are due TODAY. No extras will be ordered! This is your last chance to get a shirt.

     

    The Boys Soccer Team will be having a call out meeting after school TODAY in room H213.

     

    Any girl interested in playing golf next fall needs to attend a brief call out meeting after school on Wednesday in the high school health room.  

     

    Any current 8th through 11th grader interested in playing football this upcoming season there will be a call out meeting Wednesday after school in the team room across from the weight room. Make arrangements to be there and if there are any questions see Coach Geffert in the PE department before the meeting.

     

    The GPS Choir Department will be having its final concert this Thursday, May 24th at 7 pm in the auditorium. Staff of GPS are free to attend, adults are $5 and students/seniors/children under 12 are $3. The theme is GPS FM so come see students perform the greatest hits from the 80s to now! 

     

    Tie Dye day is THIS THURSDAY at 3pm in Miss Rivera’s room (B112). If you ordered a “Panthers” shirt to Tie Dye, stop by and dye it anytime between 3 and 6 pm! Limited sizes are still available for purchase of the Panthers tees and Baseball tees. If you still owe Miss Rivera money, you must pay for your shirt BEFORE you tie-dye it. If you would like to bring your own items to Tie Dye, you can bring any 100% cotton item and tie-dye for $5 per item. See Miss Rivera with any questions or to purchase extra shirts. Any art club member who wants to help with the event should show up right after school to learn techniques and help set up. 

     

    FCCLA is now accepting Officer applications for the 2018-2019 school year! If you are interested in holding an officer position next year, make sure you stop by the FCCLA bulletin board outside G113 and pick-up an application today! All applications are due by May 31st! 

     

     

    Middle School Announcements

     

    The Highland and Griffith Police Departments Summer GREAT Program will be a three-day event this year taking place from June 19th through June 21st.  This year’s field trip will be to Fair Oaks Farm.  We will only accept the first 50 current sixth or seventh grade students who turn in applications, and the spots are filling up fast.  We are also seeking high school students currently 10th grade or older wishing to serve as team leaders during the program in exchange for community service hours.  See Officer Ghrist for more information.
